A few months ago, I was trying to convince myself that attending this year’s Sloan Sports Analytics Conference was still worth the money, and after writing down the specific features of the conference I was able to do so.  In the meantime, tickets for the Conference were selling at such a rate that the event sold out by the end of November.  The only recourse is to put one’s name on the waitlist and hope for enough cancellations to be offered the chance to buy a ticket.

That chance came last night.  I’ve purchased my ticket and I’ve made my travel arrangements, so I can confirm that I will be at this year’s SSAC after all.  I was giving serious thought to traveling to Boston even if I didn’t have a ticket so that I could attend the pre-SSAC Soccer Analysts party and visit some contacts in the Boston area.  Now I have multiple reasons to go.
